Paint it Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

While the nights may be getting darker, we’re getting even brighter at The Mermaid London with the launch of our Paint it Pink competition for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

With Halloween fast approaching, October is the perfect time to get crafty, so grab your glitter, grab your friends (grab the takeaway pizza menu) and join us in turning pale pumpkins into mesmerising masterpieces to raise money for specialist cancer charity, Breast Cancer Now.

Breast Cancer Now funds world-class research into a disease which affects one in every seven women in the UK. Determined to ensure anyone affected by breast cancer gets the best possible treatment and care, the life-changing charity also works side-by-side with hospitals and their patients to improve breast cancer services, provide support where it’s needed most, and bring hope for the future.

How do I take part in Paint it Pink?

So, let your imagination run away with you this spooky season and join us to help bring a little light to one of the darkest times in the lives of so many women. To take part, all you need to do is email info@the-mermaid.co.uk to order your Paint it Pink pack, entice three other friends to join you (easily done with the promise of pumpkin-inspired snacks – pumpkin spice cookies anyone?), decorate your pumpkin as pink as you can, and send a picture of your showstopper to The Mermaid London team before October 31.

For every entry, we’ll donate £10 to Breast Cancer Now, and you and your friends will be entered into a competition to win a Champagne Afternoon Tea at The Ivy Asia in St Paul’s.

Enjoyed under the enchanting canopy of its pink cherry blossom trees, this deliciously decadent treat includes mouth-watering delicacies such as aromatic duck spring rolls and sesame crusted prawn dumplings as well as raspberry macaroons, vanilla and sesame crème brulee, and chocolate and caramel mouse. All washed down with a moreish glass of the finest fizz, of course.
