The Mermaid London Earns Gold Accreditation for Sustainability Initiatives

This season, The Mermaid London was awarded Greengage’s ECOsmart accreditation thanks to the venue’s efforts to engage with green products, green policies, green services, and sustainability initiatives.

In a bid to channel commercial success while saving the planet, The Blackfriars-based event venue teamed up with sustainability and environmental specialists, Greengage Solutions, who provide independent advice and support to the travel and events sector.

What’s the Greengage ECOsmart sustainability accreditation all about?

Following a thorough reviewing of The Mermaid London’s internal processes, common practices, and the services they provide to clients from a sustainability perspective, the sustainability specialists awarded the forward-thinking venue with a gold standard accreditation.

This accreditation means that The Mermaid London is listed on Greengage’s directory, highlighting to event organisers and clients the venue’s trustworthy sustainability credentials.

The ECOsmart certification was designed to assess and position event venues as a sustainable company, as well as ensuring the right propositions are in place to satisfy the requirements of event organisers, delegates, and customers.

How did the venue come to receive this sustainability award?

The venue has seen several recent green initiatives ranging from building upgrades and operational energy efficiency efforts to campaigns promoting public transport, which can all be viewed on the sustainability page.
